Highly productive double spindle turning centre for serial production of workpieces of up to ø180 x 100 mm

Equipped with two motor spindles and two 8-fold disk turrets, the NRX 2000 enables simultaneous machining processes on both work spindles in the “Stealth Design”.

NRX 2000

The two work spindle units with 5,000 min-1 as standard can be moved in the X- and Z-axis, two stationary tool turrets in the front area of the machine - ideally protected from chips or coolant - provide space for eight tools (optionally ten).

Traverse speeds of 30 m/min and the new, integrated loading and unloading system also contribute to the high productivity of the NRX 2000. For example, the gantry loader with charging times of 4.2 seconds drastically reduces idle times, supported by the Duo loading unit, which enables fast workpiece transfer from spindle 1 to spindle 2. The high dynamics of the loading portal has been enabled by a more compact design and reduction of movable parts – this reduces vibrations, which ultimately results in improved surface quality. A workpiece stacking feeder with 14 units as standard is integrated laterally, which can receive workpieces of up to 3kg.

The MAPPS V COMPACTline with 10.6” multi-touch display and in particular the well thought our machine design with excellent ergonomics and high functionality ensure a high degree of user comfort. Accessibility on both tool turrets installed on the front, to chucks and loading and unloading units is optimally implemented within 360 mm.

Furthermore, the edgeless chip collection pan and the integrated chip conveyor ensure a process-reliable chip disposal. This production cell with its fast automation is suitable for autonomous serial production.

The compact design with a width of 1,650 mm and a height of 2,100 mm reduces the space requirement compared to conventional machines by more than 30 %. This means the double spindle turning centre can be transported in a standard container, which significantly reduces the freight charges.

Highlights of the NRX 2000

  • Parallel machining on both work spindles
  • Compact design for small footprint of 1,650 x 3,590 mm
  • Manufacturing cell height, including automation of 2,100 mm
  • Increased productivity due to integrated, fast workpiece transfer of 5.8 sec.
  • Optimum arrangement of tool turrets, change to tool with short distance of 260 mm
  • Outstanding accessibility to loading and unloading system and to chucks
  • Optimum, process-reliable chip removal
